IPL 2020 schedule will be released on Sunday: Brijesh Patel


DUBAI: The much-awaited schedule of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be released on Sunday, chairman Brijesh Patel said on Saturday.

The IPL 2020 is slated to commence from September 19 and the fans have been eagerly waiting for the schedule to find out the dates on which their favorite teams will be seen in action.


Asked about the schedule, Patel told ANI: "The schedule will be released tomorrow."


The tournament will be played from September 19 to November 10 in the UAE across three venues -- Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

All the teams have already reached UAE to take part in the tournament and are currently undergoing training. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was the last team to begin training as they finally stepped on the field on Friday after their third round of Covid-19 tests.

Last week, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had confirmed that 13 personnel, including two players, had tested positive for Covid-19. However, the board had not specified as to which team had how many confirmed cases. The identity of the players and staff was also not revealed.

All 60 matches of the 2020 IPL will be shown live on Sky Sports after the company acquired the UK and Ireland TV broadcast rights for the tournament for the next three years. UK viewers will be able to watch all 60 of the matches exclusively live on Sky Sports. Star India announced that Hotstar now officially available in the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and Indian Premier League (IPL T20) matches streamed online on the digital platform for viewers. IPL 2020 will be available to subscribers in the two countries via Hotstar with with subscription fees in two tiers – annually and monthly.
Cricket viewers in the United States can watch Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) live coverage on Willow TV, and SuperSport will telecast live coverage of Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 13) in South Africa; all matches live streamed on the SuperSport digital platform (Website, App). Cricket viewers in Canada can watch IPL 12 on Willow TV and Sky Sports Cricket to broadcast live coverage in the United Kingdom.
BeIN Sports have TV rights for live coverage of IPL 2020 in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Countries, here are the list – Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, UAE and Yemen. Fox Sports has acquired the rights to the 2020 Indian Premier League, the world’s leading T20 cricket tournament, with LIVE coverage of the competition to be broadcast across Fox Sports and Fox Cricket (available on Foxtel). There will be no live telecast of Indian Premier League 2019 in Pakistan. Pakistan banned IPL 2020 live coverage in-country, the ban comes as a response after Indian broadcaster stopped their T20 League coverage in India. If the tournament gets broadcast in Pakistan then, Geo Super (Geo TV) is the official broadcasters in Pakistan for the Indian Premier League 2020.

Star India win five-year global media rights of IPL – Indian Premier League till 2022. All the action of IPL 2020 will also be simulcasted and LIVE STREAMED on Star’s video on demand platform Disney+ Hotstar.
But for that either IPL FANS will have to take yearly membership of Disney+ Hotstar Premium membership for 1499 Per year or Monthly membership by paying 299 per month.

Jio Rs 499, Rs 777 prepaid plans offer free IPL 2020 streaming with Disney+ Hotstar subscription. Reliance Jio has launched two new prepaid plans – Rs 499 and Rs 777 – that the company claims are tailored for cricket fans in India. The company has partnered with IPL’s official streaming partner Hotstar and is offering 1-year VIP subscription worth Rs 399 with these prepaid plans.
Jio has confirmed that only VIP subscription of Disney+ Hotstar will be available to customers and it would not offer the Disney+ Hotstar Premium subscription. Additionally, IPL’s streaming on Hotstar will be delayed by five minutes.
Jio, in its Rs 499 Cricket prepaid plan, is offering a 1-year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar to provide unlimited cricketing coverage. This pack also provides 1.5 GB of data per day and access to Jio apps for 56 days.
There is also a Rs 777 quarterly subscription plan which offers a 1-year Disney+ Hotstar subscription, 131GB of data, unlimited voice calling, and access to Jio apps for 84 days.
IPL 2020: What is the match timings for both afternoon and evening IPL matches
All evening games in IPL 2020 will start @ 7.30PM. On the day there are doubleheaders – afternoon matches will start at 3.30 PM – followed by evening games @ 7.30PM starting from September 19th.
